Yeah, the lock isn't the best, and the plastic stocks on the new ones look and feel pretty crummy, and the sights are just plain old ugly. BUT... they're shooters.I like the fact that they have a hole cross drilled horizontally in the area where the cap sits. These hole direct the blow back gases outward and help split the cap for easy removal. My other choice of nipples would be the Knight "Red Hot". Both nipples come in sizes to fit your rifles. Charge the gun but use no over-powder wad. Keeping the muzzle pointed up, cap and snap. If it fires, good- then repeat using wadding over the powder charge. So getting a nicely done Uberti for $130 is a helluva deal. and.Sometimes, in the field, the ramrod isn't stuck that bad and you can make a little jig out of metal plate with a 3/8" hole (if that is the diameter of your ramrod). This little plate can be about 3/4" wide, 3" long, 1/8" thick and the hole at one end. Out to 80 yards a 58 with 140 grains is going to abuse the shooter about as much as it will abuse the deer if ranges are around 80 yards or less. That might be a good load for larger game, but over kill for deer. I've killed deer with a 50 with about 80 grains of 2f and it did just fine..
